Habitat and Description: Rare in compacted soils on edge of road through mesquite woodland on deep, friable, well drained, moderately alkaline, calcareous sandy clay loam (Colibro Series) on level upland underlain by Weches Formation and mantled by alluvium, in fenceline. Woody associates include Acacia greggii, A. rigidula, Aloysia gratissima, Baccharis texana, Berberis trifoliolata, Celtis pallida, C. reticulata, Condalia hookeri, Diospyros texana, Eysenhardtia texana, Guaiacum angustifolium, Opuntia leptocaulis, O. lindheimeri, Prosopis glandulosa, Ptelea trifoliata, Sideroxylon lanuginosum, Wedelia texana, Yucca constricta, Y. treculeana, Ziziphus obtusifolius.
