Habitat and Description: Frequent in shrubland on moderately alkaline, calcareous sandy clay loam (Colibro Series) over Weches Formation (Eocene) mantled by gravelly Recent alluvium, on eroded slope. Woody associates include Acacia rigidula, Aloysia gratissima, Berberis trifoliolata, Brickellia texana, Celtis pallida, Colubrina texensis, Condalia hookeri, Diospyros texana, Eysenhardtia texana, Guaiacum angustifolium, Lantana urticoides, Lycium berlandieri, Opuntia lindheimeri, O. leptocaulis, Prosopis glandulosa, Ptelea trifoliata, Sideroxylon lanuginosum, Yucca constricta, Y. treculeana, Ziziphus obtusifolius.
