Habitat and Description: Occasional in openings in thorn shrubland on deep, friable, well drained, moderately alkaline, calcareous, sandy clay loam (Colibro Series) on eroded alluvial slope underlain by Weches Formation. Woody components of shrubland include Acacia greggii, A. rigidula, Aloysia gratissima, Baccharis texana, Berberis trifoliolata, Celtis pallida, C. reticulata, Colubrina texensis, Condalia hookeri, Eysenhardtia texana, Guaiacum angustifolium, Lantana urtic NPS accession no. SAAN-00304, NPS catalog no. 20067.
