Habitat and Description: Occasional along margins of mesquite woodland on deep well drained, moderately alkaline, calcareous sandy clay loam (Colibro Series) over Recent alluvium, high terrace. Woody associates include Acacia greggii, A. rigidula, Aloysia gratissima, Baccharis texana, Berberis trifoliolata, Celtis pallida, C. reticulata, Condalia hookeri, Diospyros texana, Eysenhardtia texana, Guaiacum angustifolium, Lycium berlandieri, Opuntia leptocaulis, O. lindheimeri, Prosopis glandulosa, Ptelea trifoliata, Sideroxylon lanuginosum, Solanum triquetrum, Yucca constricta, Y. treculeana, Ziziphus obtusifolius.
