Habitat and Description: Locally common in bed of truck track through tame pasture, on soils mapped as deep, friable, well drained, moderately alkaline, calcareous sandy clay loam of the Colibro Series. Associates include Amblyolepis setigera, Ambrosia confertiflora, Bromus catharticus, Chloris cucullata, Cirsium texanum, Glandularia bipinnatifida, G. quadrangulata, Medicago polymorpha, Melilotus indicus, Plantago rhodosperma, Pyrrhopappus pauciflorus, Verbena plicata. NPS accession no. SAAN-00304, NPS catalog no. 20054.
