Habitat and Description: Frequent in 100 x 50 ft. stand of relatively undisturbed native grassland on Frio clay loam, upper edge of floodplain of San Antonio River, E edge of Johnsongrass hay meadow. Only spot on Missions NHP property containing several decreaser grassland species such as Schizachyrium scoparium. Other associates include Agalinis strictifolia, Anemone berlandieri, Aphanostephus ramosissimus, Aristida purpurea, Aster ericoides, Desmanthus virgatus, Digitaria cognata, Draba platycarpa, Engelmannia pinnatifida, Eragrostis intermedia, Gaillardia pulchella, Galium virgatum, Helianthus maximiliani, Houstonia nigricans, H. parviflora, Hymenopappus scabiosaeus, Limnodea arkansana, Lindheimera texana, Mimosa latidens, Nassella leucotricha, Panicum hallii.
