Habitat and Description: Common in rather sparse herbaceous vegetation on short but fairly steep rocky / stony slope underlain by Cretaceous limestone. Associates include Amsonia ciliata, Apocynum cannabinum, Aristida purpurea, Bouteloua curtipendula, Dalea hallii, Dyssodiopsis tagetoides, Liatris aestivalis, Oenothera macrocarpa, Paronychia virginica, Pediomelum linearifolium, P. reverchonii, Rhus lanceolata, Silphium albiflorum, Stillingia texana, Vernonia lindheimeri, Yucca pallida.
