Habitat and Description: Common in matrix grassland on shallow stony clay loam on nearly level ridgetop within rolling landscape underlain by Cretaceous limestone. Associates include Bromus japonicus, Centaurea americana, Gutierrezia texana, Maclura pomifera, Monarda citriodora, Nassella leucotricha, Prosopis glandulosa, Psoralidium tenuiflorum.
