Habitat and Description: Annual; stems hirsute; locally common in herbaceous vegetation on clayey alluvium along unshaded margin of stock tank in shallow valley between gentle slopes underlain by Cretaceous limestone and otherwise supporting prairie vegetation. Associates include Amaranthus rudis, Aster subulatus, Bothriochloa ischaemum, Conyza canadensis, Echinochloa colona, Eragrostis cilianensis, Iva angustifolia, Leptochloa filiformis, Parthenium hysterophorus, Paspalum sp., Phyla nodiflora, Polygonum ramosissimum, Solanum rostratum, Sporobolus vaginiflorus, Tridens albescens, Xanthium strumarium.
