Habitat and Description: In young deciduous forest on alluvial fine sand along oxbow lake in old channel of Sabine River. Associates include Acer negundo, Ampelopsis arborea, Ambrosia trifida, Arundinaria gigantea, Berchemia scandens, Betula nigra, Bignonia capreolata, Brunnichia ovata, Campsis radicans, Carex cherokeensis, C. crus-corvi, other Carex spp., Carpinus caroliniana, Chasmanthium latifolium, Cynosciadium digitatum, Desmodium spp., Elymus virginicus, Forestiera acuminata, Fraxinus cf. pensylvanica, Galium aparine, G. tinctorium, Geum canadense, Ilex decidua, I. opaca, Juglans nigra, Ligustrum sinense, Lonicera japonica, Morus rubra, Myosotis macrosperma, Onoclea sensibilis, Parthenocissus quinquefolia, Poa annua, Ptilimnium sp., Quercus nigra, Q. phellos, Q. shumardii, Sabal minor, Sambucus canadensis, Sanicula canadensis, Sassafras albidum, Smilax bona-nox, S. hispida, Sphenopholis obtusata, Toxicodendron sp., Ulmus alata, U. americana, Viola sp., Vitis rotundifolia. Rare.
