Habitat and Description: In occasionally mown herbaceous vegetation in unshaded drainage ditch along logging road through loblolly pine - oak forest on medium acid silty loam Alfisols (Sorter Series) on flat landscape underlain by Lissie Formation. Associates include Centaurea americana, Croton capitatus, C. willdenowii, Cynodon dactylon, Dichanthelium scoparium, Diodia teres, Diodia virginiana, Eupatorium capillifolium, E. rotundifolium, Helenium amarum, Hypericum fasciculatum, Juncus validus, Lechea mucronata, Liatris pycnostachya, Linum medium, Paspalum notatum, P. plicatulum, P. urvillei, Rhexia mariana, Rhynchospora glomerata, R. inexpansa, Rudbeckia hirta, Salvia lyrata, Scoparia dulcis, Scutellaria sp., Tridens flavus, Verbena brasiliensis. Rare.
