Habitat and Description: In rather sparse grassland on extremely shallow stony clay soils on bench of Cretaceous limestone on lip of shallow ravine. Associates include Ambrosia psilostachya, Dalea aurea, D. compacta, D. tenuis, Eriogonum longifolium, Liatris sp., Pediomelum linearifolium, Prosopis glandulosa, Schizachyrium scoparium, Silphium albiflorum, Stillingia texana. Common.
