Habitat and Description: Along relatively sunny margin of loblolly pine - oak forest on poorly drained medium acid silty loam Alfisols (Sorter Series) on flat landscape underlain by Lissie Formation. Associates include Baccharis halamifolia, Croton capitatus, C. willdenowii, Eragrostis spectabilis, Eupatorium rotundifolium, Helenium amarum, Heterotheca pilosa, Hypericum drummondii, Hyptis alata, Lechea mucronata, Paspalum setaceum, Scoparia dulcis, Trichostema dichotomum, Tridens albescens, T. flavus, T. strictus, Verbena halei. Common.
