Locality: United States, TEXAS, Starr, Just W of stock tank on Las Estrellas Preserve, ca. 0.3-0.4 mi W of R. M. 3167 from a point 7-8 roadmiles N of jct. US Rt. 83 at W edge of Rio Grande City. Elev. 270-280ft.

Habitat and Description: In partial shade of huisache on gravelly saline clay (Catarina soils) on gentle slope on gently rolling landscape underlain by mudstones and claystones of the Catahoula and Frio formations (undivided). Tall shrubland dominated by Acacia farnesiana and Parkinsonia aculeata with ground layer of Cynodon dactylon and Phyla nodiflora. Locally common.
