Habitat and Description: On convex hill of fine sand rising about 15 feet above clayey alluvial plain formed by various channels of Nueces River. Associates include Ambrosia confertiflora, Aphanostephus riddellii, Berberis trifoliolata, Carlowrightia texana, Celtis pallida, Cenchrus spinifex, Chamaesyce glyptosperma, Croton argyranthemus, C. lindheimerianus, Diospyros texana, Ephedra antisyphilitica, Heterotheca subaxillaris, Jatropha dioica, Koeberlinia spinosa, Nama hispidum, Opuntia leptocaulis, O. lindheimeri, Palafoxia texana, Pectis tenella, Pennisetum ciliare, Prosopis glandulosa, Silene antirrhina, Tridens muticus, Yucca treculeana, Y. cf. constricta. Rare in open shrubland
