Habitat and Description: In grassland or open shrubland in old root-plowed area on deep saline clay (Catarina Series) on gentle slope in valley below gravelly hills underlain by Catahoula and Frio formations. Associates include Croton spp., Dyssodia pentachaeta, Heliotropium angiospermum, Jatropha dioica, Panicum hallii, Parthenium confertum, Pennisetum ciliare, Pithecellobium ebano, Prosopis glandulosa, Setaria cf. macrostachya, S. ramiseta, Sporobolus pyramidatus, Synthlipsis greggii, Tiquilia canescens, Ziziphus obtusifolia. Common (during this wet year).
