Habitat and Description: Medium-stature thorn shrubland on somewhat saline tight gravelly clay (Catarina Series) on gravelly convex hilltop underlain by Catahoula and Frio formations. Associates include Acacia berlandieri, A. rigidula, Acourtia runcinata, Billieturnera helleri, Condalia spathulata, Cynanchum barbigerum, Eysenhardtia texana, Forestiera angustifolia, Guaiacum angustifolium, Hibiscus martianus, Hilaria belangeri, Jefea brevifolia, Karwinskia humboldtiana, Krameria ramosissima, Leucophyllum frutescens, Lippia graveolens, Opuntia leptocaulis, O. lindheimeri, Polygala glandulosa, Telosiphonia macrosiphon, Viguiera stenoloba. Occasional.
