Habitat and Description: In clayey soils with sandy surface layer, in recently burned brownseed paspalum-gulf cordgrass grassland on coastal prairie. Associates include Ambrosia psilostachya, Astranthium integrifolium, Baptisia leucophaea, Calylophus sp., Chloris cucullata, Daucua pusillus, Dichanthelium sp., Fimbristylis cf. puberula, Iva angustifolia, Juncus marginatus, Lechea sansabeana, Linaria canadensis, Monarda punctata, Oenothera laciniata, Phalaris caroliniana, Plantago aristata, Polygala incarnata, P. verticillata, Rudbeckia hirta, Sabatia campestris. Occasional. Mad Island Marsh Preserve Herbarium (Matagorda Co. Texas), donated by the Nature Conservancy to the University of Texas Herbarium, 2011.
