Habitat and Description: In sandy clay loam in recently burned gulf cordgrass-brownseed paspalum grassland on essentially level coastal prairie. Associates include Agrostis hiemalis, Astranthium integrifolium, Bromus unioloides, Carex brittoniana, Cirsium horridulum, Helenium amarum, Juncus marginatus, Lechea san-sabeana, Limnosciadium pumilum, Panicum hians, Phalaris caroliniana, Pyrrhopappus sp., Rhynchospora indianolensis, Sabatia campestris, Sisyrinchium sagittiferum, Tradescantia occidentalis, Triodanis biflora. Rare. Mad Island Marsh Preserve Herbarium (Matagorda Co. Texas), donated by the Nature Conservancy to the University of Texas Herbarium, 2011.
