Habitat and Description: One shrub noted along margin of shrubland on sand/shell ridge. Woody assoc. include Ampelopsis arborea, Amyris texana, Bumelia lanuginosa, Celtis reticulata, Cocculus carolinus, Colubrina texensis, Cornus drummondii, diospyros texana, Erythrina herbacea, Forestiera angustifolia, Prosopis glandulosa, Rhus toxicodendron, Sapindus saponaria, Smilax bona-nox, Sophora secundiflora, Vitis mustangensis, Yucca treculeana, Zanthoxylum fagara. Rare. Mad Island Marsh Preserve Herbarium (Matagorda Co. Texas), donated by the Nature Conservancy to the University of Texas Herbarium, 2011.
