Habitat and Description: Soapberry and other taller brush in shrubland on sand/shell ridge. Herbaceous associates include Galium aparine, Elymus virginicus, Parietaria pensylvanica, Phacelia congesta, Urtica chamaedryoides, Woody associates include Ampelopsis arborea, Amyris texana, Bumelia lanuginosa, Celtis reticulata, Cocculus carolinus, Colubrina texensis, Condalia hookeri, Cornus drummondii, Diospyros texana, Erythrina herbacea, Forestiera angustifolia, Prosopis glandulosa, Rhus toxicodendron, Sapindus saponaria, Smilax bona-nox, Sophora secundiflora, Vitis mustangensis, Yucca treculeana, Zanthoxylum fagara. Common in shade of soapberry. Mad Island Marsh Preserve Herbarium (Matagorda Co. Texas), donated by the Nature Conservancy to the University of Texas Herbarium, 2011.
