Habitat and Description: A major component of rather sparse low shrubby vegetation on soils mapped as very shallow, well drained, calcareous, moderately alkaline gravelly loam (Lozier Series), on nearly level upland underlain by Cretaceous limestone. Vegetation dominated by Larrea tridentata, Dalea formosa, Tiquilia sp., short Prosopis glandulosa. Other associates (identifiable during dry early spring season) included Aristida sp., Erioneuron pulchellum, Physaria fendleri, Croton sp., Polygala scoparioides, Polygala 28748, Euphorbia acuta. Locally common.
