Habitat and Description: In mostly native grassland vegetation on soils mapped as Normangee clay loam (Vertic Haplustalfs), on gently rolling landscape underlain by Blossom Sand. Associates included Acacia angustissima, Achillea millefolium, Agrostis hyemalis, Baptisia sphaerocarpon, Camassia scilloides, Carex bushii, Dichanthelium oligosanthes, D. sphaerocarpon, Echinacea pallida, Erigeron strigosus, Eryngium yuccifolium, Euphorbia spathulata, Helianthus grosseserratus, H. mollis, Lobelia appendiculata, Mimosa nuttallii, Oenothera speciosa, Penstemon digitalis, Phalaris caroliniana, Phlox pilosa, Polytaenia nuttallii, Ranunculus fascicularis, Rubus spp., Rudbeckia maxima, Sphenopholis obtusata, Sporobolus silveanus, Triodanis biflora, Tripsacum dactyloides, Valerianella radiata. Rare.
