Habitat and Description: In prairie grassland on soils mapped as Normangee clay loam (Vertic Haplustalfs), on gentle slopes on gently rolling landscape underlain by Blossom Sand. Grassland characterized by Sporobolus silveanus, Tripsacum dactyloides. Other associates included Agrostis hyemalis, Baptisia sphaerocarpa, Carex bushii, Coreopsis grandiflora, Dichanthelium oligosanthes, D. sphaerocarpon, Echinacea pallida, Erigeron strigosus, Eryngium yuccifolium, Euthamia gymnospermoides, Fimbristylis puberula, Helianthus grosseserratus, H. mollis, H. pauciflorus, Liatris pycnostachya, Linum medium, Lobelia appendiculata, Lolium perenne, Lythrum alatum, Mimosa nuttallii, Nassella leucotricha, Neptunia lutea, Penstemon digitalis, Phlox pilosa, Phalaris caroliniana, Polytaenia nuttallii, Ptilimnium nuttallii, Rubus aboriginum, Sabatia campestris, Sphenopholis obtusata.
