Habitat and Description:
In herbaceous vegetation in formerly cultivated field on soils mapped as Edna fine sandy loam and Bernard-Edna complex, on level coastal prairie landscape underlain by Beaumont Formation. Associates included Eryngium yuccifolium, Galactia longifolia, Gaura sp., Helianthus angustifolius, Neptunia lutea, Panicum coloratum, Paspalum plicatulum, Paspalum urvillei, Passiflora incarnata, Rudbeckia hirta. Stems erect, 2-3 ft. tall; disk corollas tawny; rare.
