Habitat and Description: In mostly native prairie grassland on soils mapped as deep, moderately well drained, slightly acid clay loam Vertic Haplustalfs (Normangee Series), near top of very gently rolling landscape underlain by Blossom Sand. Associates included Achillea millefolium, Agrostis hyemalis, Asclepias verticillata, Baptisia sphaerocarpa, Bifora americana, Carex bushii, Centaurea americana, Cirsium texanum, Coelorachis cylindrica, Coreopsis grandiflora, Daucus carota, Erigeron strigosus, Eryngium yuccifolium, Euphorbia corollata, Helianthus grosseserratus, H. mollis, Juncus interior, Koeleria cristata, Liatris pycnostachya, Linum medium, Lobelia appendiculata, Mimosa nuttallii, Oenothera speciosa, Penstemon tubiflorus, Phalaris caroliniana, Polytaenia nuttallii, Pycnanthemum tenuifolium, Rubus sp., Rudbeckia maxima, Ruellia humilis, Silphium radula, Tripsacum dactyloides.
