Habitat and Description: Along edge of narrow strip of deciduous woodland in fenceline crossing grassland on floodplain of major stream, on soils mapped as deep, somewhat poorly drained, mildly alkaline clay Vertisols (Kaufman Series). Associates included Carex spp. (29559, 29560) , Carya illinoinensis, Celtis laevigata, Cercis canadensis, Chaerophyllum tainturieri, Clematis pitcheri, Cocculus carolinus, Galium aparine, Gleditisia triacanthos, Juniperus virginiana, Maclura pomifera, Myosotis macrosperma, Parthenocissus quinquefolia, Passiflora lutea, Quercus macrocarpa, Q. nigra, Q. phellos, Q. stellata, Rhus sp., Ruellia strepens, Sanicula canadensis, Smilax bona-nox, Symphoricarpos orbiculatus, Toxicodendron radicans, Trepocarpus aethusae, Ulmus sp., Vernonia sp. Locally common.
