Habitat and Description: Along unshaded margin of +/- natural swale within grassland on floodplain of major stream, on soils mapped as deep, somewhat poorly drained, mildly alkaline clay Vertisols (Kaufman Series). Associates included Carex crus-corvi, Cephalanthus occidentalis, Cynosciadium digitatum, Dracopis amplexicaulis, Eryngium sp., Galium tinctorium, Iva annua, Limnosciadium pinnatum, Lythrum alatum, Persicaria hydropiperoides, Physostegia intermedia, Ranunculus fascicularis, Rumex altissimus, Trepocarpus aethusae, Xanthium strumarium.
