Habitat and Description: In partial shade of buttonbush in minor depression within gamagrass prairie on soils mapped as deep, somewhat poorly drained, mildly alkaline clay Vertisols (Kaufman Series) on floodplain of major stream. Associates included Asclepias viridis, Aster ericoides, Carex spp., Dichanthelium oligosanthes, Dracopis amplexicaulis, Lathyrus pusillus, Minuartia muscorum, Oenothera speciosa, Phalaris caroliniana, Physostegia pulchella, Polytaenia nuttallii, Rubus sp., Solidago sp., Tripsacum dactyloides. Rare.
