Habitat and Description: In herbaceous vegetation in drying unshaded bottom of one duck pond (expanded natural swale) in gamagrass prairie on floodplain of major stream, on soils mapped as deep, somewhat poorly drained, mildly alkaline clay Vertisols (Kaufman Series). Associates included Cardiospermum halicacabum, Carex crus-corvi, C. tetrastachya, Cephalanthus occidentalis, Dracopis amplexicaulis, Galium tinctorium, Ludwigia peploides, Minuartia muscorum, Persicaria sp., Phalaris caroliniana, Pluchea sp., Ranunculus fascicularis, Rorippa sessiliflora, Steinchisma hians, Trepocarpus aethusae, Xanthium strumarium. Locally frequent.
