Habitat and Description: In brushy prairie on soils mapped as Houston black clay (Udic Pellusterts) on nearly level higher portion of gently rolling landscape underlain by Blossom Sand. Associates included Achillea millefolium, Arnoglossum plantagineum, Baptisia sphaerocarpa, Celtis laevigata, Cirsium texanum, Desmanthus illinoensis, Dracopis amplexicaulis, Echinacea angustifolia, Erigeron strigosus, Euphorbia spathulata, Monarda fistulosa, Oenothera speciosa, Phlox pilosa, Prunus rivularis, Pyrrhopappus pauciflorus, R. oklahomus, Rubus aboriginum, Silphium asperrimum, Solidago sp. Low shrub; petals white; rare.
