Habitat and Description: Along edge of narrow strip of deciduous woodland along channel of wet-weather stream, on soils mapped as Normangee clay loam (Vertic Haplustalfs), between gentle slopes underlain by Blossom Sand and supporting prairie grassland. Woodland dominated by Celtis laevigata and Cornus drummondii. Other associates included Camassia scilloides, Carex leavenworthii, Diospyros virginiana, Geum canadense, Juniperus virginiana, Ligustrum sinense, Matelea gonocarpa, Physalis sp., Prunus rivularis, Rubus aboriginum, Sanicula canadensis, Sideroxylon lanuginosum, Toxicodendron radicans, Ulmus americana, Ulmus crassifolia. Thicket-forming shrub. Common.
