Habitat and Description: Gravelly bed. Ashe juniper-oak woodland above. Associates include Quercus fusiformis, Junipersu ashei, Garrya, Juglans microphylla, Diospyros tex., Sophora secundiflora, Ilex vomitoria, Bumelia lanuginosa, Celtis reticulata, and Ambrosia. Annual 75 cm tall. Ray flts yellow with reddish-purple spots at base. Disk flts red-or purplish-brown.
