Habitat and Description: In shrublands on caliche-sandy clay slope just below level prairie surface of Beaumont Formation. Associates include Acacia greggii, A. rigidula, A. schaffneri, Castela erecta, Condalia hookeri, C. spathulata, Ephedra antisyphililtica, Eysenhardtia texana, Guaiacum angustifolium, Gymnosperma glutinosum, Isocoma drummondii, Opuntia lindheimeri, Prosopis glandulosa, Schaefferia cuneifolia, Sideroxylon celastrinum, Wedelia hispida, Xylothamia palmeri, Yucca treculeana, Zanthoxylum fagara. Common.
