Habitat and Description: In patches of sparser vegetation on tight sandy loam in claypan savanna, on upland supporting mosaic of little bluestem/brownseed paspalum grasslands and scattered live oak mottes and the occasional huisache. Associates include Ambrosia psilostachya, Baptisia bracteata, Brachiaria ciliatissima, Croton capitatus, Digitaria cognata, Eragrostis secundiflora, Helenium amarum, Paspalum plicatulum, Schizachyrium scoparium and Zornia gemella.
