Habitat and Description: In old cattle pasture grassland containing numerous "prairie" species, on gentle slopes and flats underlain by claystone, on well drained clayey soils mapped as Owensville-Harper complex. Associates included Acacia angustissima, Aristida purpurea, Centaurea americana, Cirsium undulatum, Croton monanthogynus, Dalea compacta, D. enneandra, D. multiflora, D. nana, Desmanthus sp., Dyssodiopsis tagetoides, Echinacea angustifolia, Eriogonum longifolium, Eryngium leavenworthii, Euphorbia bicolor, Gaillardia pulchella, Grindelia sp., Hedeoma drummondii, Houstonia nigricans, Iva angustifolia, Krameria lanceolata, Liatris punctata, Lindheimera texana, Matelea biflora, Neptunia lutea, Phyllanthus polygonoides, Polygala alba, Polytaenia nuttallii, Salvia texana, Schizachyrium scoparium, Scutellaria drummondii, Stenosiphon linifolius, Tetraneuris scaposa, Thelesperma filifolium, Yucca arkansana. Rare.
