Habitat and Description: In sandyland herbaceous vegetation in opening in burned-over loblolly pine - post oak forest, on gently rolling upland underlain by Eocene sand, on soils mapped as deep, moderately well drained, neutral to slightly acid fine sand (Patilo Series, Grossarenic Paleustalfs). Associates included Ascyrum hypericoides, Centrosema virginianum, Chamaecrista fasciculata, Chamaesyce cordifolia, Chrysopsis pilosa, Cnidoscolus texanus, Commelina erecta, Coreopsis sp., Croptilon sp., Croton capitatus, C. glandulosus, Cyperus uniflorus, Dichanthelium linearifolium, Diodia teres, Euphorbia capillifolium, Gaillardia amblyodon, Helianthemum georgianum, Helianthus debilis, Hypericum gentianoides, Lechea tenuifolia, Liatris bridgesii, Loeflingia squarrosa, Mollugo verticillata, Monarda nuttallii, Monarda viridissima, Nuttallanthus texanus, Palafoxia hookeriana, Paronychia drummondii, Paspalum plicatulum, Plantago hookeriana, Polanisia erosa, Portulaca umbraticola, Quercus incana, Schizachyrium scoparium, Selaginella arenicola, Stillingia sylvatica, Stylisma pickeringii, Triplasis purpurea, Zornia bracteata. Rare. Area burned during Bastrop Complex Wildfire of September 2011.
