Habitat and Description: In deep sand or loamy sand on level unshaded occasionally mown highway right-of-way in live oak savanna on South Texas Sand Sheet. Associates include Gaillardia pulchella, Phlox cuspidata, Allium sp., Aphanostephus skirrhobasis, Castilleja indivisa, Lupinus subcarnosus, Lobelia berlandieri var. berlandieri, Coreopsis neucensoides, Phacelia sp., and Lesquerella grandiflora.
