Locality: United States, TEXAS, Val Verde, Near TPWD bunkhouse above E bank of Devils River between mouths of Satan and Little Satan canyons, ca. 9 airmiles NW of jct. US Rt. 277 and road to Rough Canyon Recreation Area. SW part Devils River State Natural Area Southern Unit. Elev. 1160-1180 ft.

Habitat and Description: In natural and manufactured openings in cenizo-blackbrush-guajillo shrubland on extremely shallow stony clay soils on bench and gentle slopes underlain by Salmon Peak Limestone. Associates included Acacia berlandieri, A. rigidula, Acleisanthes longiflora, Ammoselinum popei, Arenaria benthamii, Aristida purpurea, Boerhavia linearifolia, Bothriochloa ischaemum, Bouteloua trifida, Calliandra conferta, Centaurea melitensis, Chaetopappa bellidifolia, Dalea nana, D. pogonathera, Erioneuron pilosum, Galium virgatum, Hunzikeria texana, Jatropha dioica, Leucophyllum frutescens, Pappophorum coloratum, Passiflora tenuiloba, Phyllanthus polygonoides, Pinaropappus roseus, Polygala lindheimeri, Senna bauhinioides, Spermolepis inermis, Thymophylla micropoides, T. pentachaeta, Tiquilia canescens, Tridens muticus, Yucca treculeana. Subshrub 1 ft. tall or shorter. Corolla tiny, pale yellow. Common.
