Habitat and Description: In moist fine sand in partially shaded bottom of dry pond (erstwhile stock tank) on minor drainageway, opening in post oak - eastern redcedar woodland on gentle slope underlain by Eocene sediments of the Calvert Bluff Formation, on soils mapped as deep, moderately well drained, slightly acid fine sandy loam (Axtell Series, Udertic Paleustalfs). Associates included Eclipta prostrata, Iva annua, Panicum dichotomiflorum, Persicaria pensylvanica, Steinchisma hians, Xanthium strumarium. Annual. Common.
