Locality: United States, TEXAS, Val Verde, E edge of Devils River 0.7-0.8 airmiles NNW of TPWD bunkhouse, ca. 0.5 airmiles N of gauging station at Pafford Crossing, ca. 8-9 airmiles NW of jct. US Rt. 277 and road to Rough Canyon Recreation Area. SW part of Devils River State Natural Area Southern Unit. Elev. 1140-1160 ft.

Habitat and Description: In patch of live oak woodland on narrow terrace along flood-prone river and in mouth of small tributary canyon. Associates included Acacia rigidula, Calyptocarpus vialis, Carlowrightia torreyana, Celtis laevigata, Celtis laevigata, Clematis pitcheri, Croton incanus, Diospyros texana, Karwinskia humboldtiana, Leucaena retusa, Limnodea arkansana, Lithospermum matamorense, Meximalva filipes, Parietaria pensylvanica, Prosopis glandulosa, Quercus fusiformis, Rhus virens, Ruellia sp., Salvia ballotiflora, S. roemeriana, Smilax bona-nox, Solanum triquetrum, Sophora secundiflora, Tillandsia recurvata, Tinantia anomala, Vitis cinerea, Yeatesia platystegia. Tree 15 ft. tall. Flower heads orange-yellow. Rare.
