Habitat and Description:
In herbaceous vegetation in small opening in loblolly pine - post oak forest on narrow convex ridgetop underlain by Carrizo Sand, on soils mapped as deep, moderately well drained, neutral to slightly acid fine sand (Patilo Series, Grossarenic Paleustalfs). Area lightly burned during Bastrop Complex Wildfire of September 2011. Associates included Aphanostephus skirrhobasis, Brazoria truncata, Cnidoscolus texanus, Gaillardia aestivalis, Helianthemum sp., Heterotheca subaxillaris, Hymenopappus artemisiifolius, Oenothera heterophylla, Paronychia drummondii, Polycarpon tetraphyllum, Vulpia octoflora.
