Habitat and Description:
In mixed herbaceous vegetation in linear clearing of old utility line cut through burned-over loblolly pine - post oak forest on soils mapped as deep, well drained, slightly acid loamy fine sand (Silstid Series, Arenic Paleustalfs) on gentle to moderate slopes along minor drainage on rolling landscape underlain by Carrizo Sand. Area burned during Bastrop Complex Wildfire of September 2011. Trees mostly dead and soil erosion significant in immediate area. Associates included Aphanostephus skirrhobasis, Arenaria serpyllifolia, Argemone albiflora, Arundo donax, Briza minor, Castilleja indivisa, Cnidoscolus texanus, Dichondra sp., Eupatorium compositifolium, Euphorbia (30132), Gamochaeta purpurea, Glandularia pumila, Hedypnois cretica, Hymenopappus artemisiifolius, Hypochaeris glabra, Linaria texana, Lupinus subcarnosus, Medicago minima, Nothoscordum bivalve, Oenothera laciniata, Phlox drummondii, Physalis sp., Plantago virginica, Rubus trivialis, Tradescantia subacaulis, Triodanis sp., Vicia ludoviciana. Common. Annual grass with purplish spikelets.
