Habitat and Description:
In burned loblolly pine - post oak forest on level upland and upper slope underlain by Carrizo Sand, on soils mapped as moderately deep, well drained, slightly acid, gravelly sandy soils of the Jedd Series (Ultic Paleustalfs). Area burned during Bastrop Complex Wildfire of September 2011. Canopy trees mostly dead; shrub layer open; ground layer covered in hydro-mulch with Triticale seeds. Associates included Astragalus nuttallianus, Cnidoscolus texanus, Conyza sp., Dichanthelium sp., Euphorbia corollata, Gamochaeta falcata, G. purpurea, Hymenopappus artemisiifolius, Ilex vomitoria sprouts, Krigia virginica, Lespedeza sp., Liatris sp., Myosotis macrosperma, Nuttallanthus texanus, Oxalis sp., Phytolacca americana, Quercus stellata, Rubus trivialis, Scutellaria drummondii, Sonchus sp., Tradescantia subacaulis, Triodanis sp., Vaccinium arboreum sprouts, Vulpia sp. Occasional.
