Habitat and Description: In openings in live oak - post oak woodland/savanna on level topography underlain by the Lissie Formation, on soils mapped as very deep, moderately well drained, friable, moderately acid, fine sandy loam Aquertic Chromic Hapludalfs (Nez Series). Associates included Baptisia bracteata, Croton capitatus, Eupatorium compositifolium, Eurybia hemisphaerica, Gaillardia aestivalis, Helenium amarum, Hypericum drummondii, Paspalum setaceum, Rudbeckia hirta, Symphyotrichum dumosum, S. ericoides, S. sp. (32306). Locally common.
