Habitat and Description: Emerging from hydro-mulch in burned loblolly pine - post oak forest on level upland and upper slope underlain by Carrizo Sand, on soils mapped as deep, well drained, slightly acid, very gravelly sandy soils of the Vernia complex (Grossarenic Paleustalfs). Area burned during Bastrop Complex Wildfire of September 2011. Canopy trees mostly dead; shrub layer open; ground layer covered in hydro-mulch with Triticale seeds. Associates included Dichanthelium sp., Facelis retusa, Gamochaeta purpurea, Hedyotis crassifolia, Hedypnois cretica, Hypochaeris glabra, Liatris sp., Myosotis macrosperma, Nuttallanthus texanus, Phytolacca americana, Scutellaria drummondii, Tradescantia subacaulis. Common.
