Habitat and Description: In grassland opening in live oak woodlands on soils mapped as shallow, well drained, calcareous, moderately alkaline silty clay (Doss Series, Typic Calciustolls), on gently sloping upland underlain by Glen Rose Limestone. Associates included Anemone berlandieri, Asclepias asperula, Astragalus wrightii, Galium virgatum, Hedeoma acinoides, Phlox roemeriana, Schizachyrium scoparium, Scutellaria drummondii, Senna roemeriana. Disks and rays yellow; locally common.
