Habitat and Description: In occasionally mown herbaceous vegetation on unshaded highway right-of-way on +/- level upland with surface geology mapped as Carrizo Sand (doubtful, looks like limestone), on soils mapped as shallow well drained Hindes and Yologo soils, undulating (slightly acid gravelly sandy clay loam Aridic Argiustolls and neutral gravelly loam Petrocalcic Paleustolls). Associates included Aristida purpurea, Calylophus sp., Castilleja indivisa, Chaetopappa bellioides, Erodium texanum, Euphorbia lata, Phyllanthus polygonoides, Physaria sp., Plantago helleri, Salvia texana, Scutellaria drummondii, Thamnosma texanum, Thelesperma filifolium, Verbena canescens. Common.
