Locality: United States, TEXAS, Bastrop, Near a small tank along a main road on Hoppy Springs Tract, ca. 1.1 airmiles SE of jct. St. Rt. 21 and F. M. 1441 NE of Bastrop. Bastrop State Park. Smithville NW Quadrangle. Elev. 460 ft.

Habitat and Description: In grassland opening in post oak woodland on gravelly sandy clay loam (Axtell-Tabor complex) on gently rolling upland underlain by Eocene sand. Area burned during Bastrop Complex Wildfire of September 2011. Vegetation dominated by Helenium amarum, Plantago aristata, various grasses. Other associates included Allium drummondii, Ambrosia psilostachya, Asclepias verticillata, Aster oblongifolius, Baptisia bracteata, Bothriochloa ischaemum (rare), Cirsium texanum, Cyperus spp., Diodia teres, Eragrostis pilosa, E. secundiflora, Eriogonum lo9ngifolium, Gaillardia aestivalis, Lechea tenuifolia, Lespedeza repens, Panicum coloratum, Polygala verticillata, Rudbeckia hirta, Solidago radula, Tephrosia virginiana, Trifolium cf. bejariense, Vernonia texana. Common.
