Habitat and Description:
In mixed vegetation in area from which standing dead trees (mostly loblolly pine) were removed in winter 2012, on convex upland underlain by Eocene sand of the Reklaw Formation and/or Pleistocene terrace deposits, on sandy to gravelly soils mapped as Axtell-Tabor complex. Area burned during Bastrop Complex Wildfire of September 2011. Associates included Acalypha monococca, Bothriochloa ischaemum, Croton lindheimerianus, Dichanthelium sphaerocarpon, Erigeron strigosus, Eriogonum longifolium, Houstonia nigricans, Mollugo verticillata, Rhus copallina. Locally common.
